I can barely believe it… I’m a dad! At 7:45am, on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, Grace Maralyn (named after my wonderful, beautiful and loving Grandma) Morris entered this world! At a small but mighty six pounds, two ounces and 19.25 inches long, little Gracie has won our hearts like I never could have imagined. Katherine and I are so blessed to have this little one in our lives and can’t wait for the times we’ll share together (especially when she rides a dirtbike for the first time or rebuilds her first big block engine). ![]()
Below are some of our favorite pictures from the day. I’ll have a video up in the next few weeks as well. Thanks to all for the support and prayers… God is good!

The day started pretty early. Time to leave the house!

This is my hero. Katherine was a-mazing. Seriously, she was so calm and brave. I love my wife!

Getting prepped for the cesarean…

I’ll keep this all rated PG. Here’s a quick look as they went in.

She’s here! The nurse quickly cleared her nose and throat, checked her heart and then it was over to meet Mom.

Gracie and Katherine meeting each other for the first time.

The cutest baby girl, ever. ![]()

Checkin’ things out for the first time.

Thippa… thippa… thippa…

After a few minutes, Grace and I locked eyes and couldn’t get enough of each other. Here she is just starting to figure the whole “seeing thing” out.

Taking all those measurements…

After a little while she started getting a little sleepy. This was one of her last yawns before zonking out.

The next major discovery was her thumb.

I love this little one’s feet! The Morris’ are known for whopper feet and it looks like Gracie’s going to fit right in. ![]()

More thumb suckin’.

With Christmas just around the corner, the hospital provided some pretty festive threads. The “Happy Holidays” shirt and Santa beanie were a big hit.

Kat and Grace hangin’ out.

Sweet dreams.

Grace has the most amazing grip. When her little hand takes hold, it’s a serious chore getting her to let go!

Hands down, one of my favorite photos. Mother and Daughter… and behind the lens, one super stoked Dad.
