Rosemary + Ravi ~ Flying Cloud Farms ~ 7.4.10
September 1st, 2010Fireworks came in a distant second to the amazing day we had shooting Rosemary and Ravi’s wedding at Flying Cloud Farms in Petaluma, CA on the Fourth of July. From the preparations, to Baraat, to ceremony and reception, their wedding was the perfect fusion of Indian tradition and modern trend. I can’t recall a time when I’ve seen such a diverse group enjoy the same songs, food and events. Young and old shared the dance floor, different cultures shared the same meal and everyone seemed to be having a blast celebrating this marriage. It’s the way all weddings should be. Add to that an awesome couple like Rosemary and Ravi and you’re left wondering if a wedding could get any better. I hope you enjoy this glimpse into their very special day!
Colin Michael was the photographer for the day and did a killer job capturing these two. Below are some of my favorites.

Rockin’ it at sunset.

Wicked-sick rings.

These shoes are so rad.

Rosemary looked absolutely stunning. The Indian wedding dress is a whole new level of awesome.

The detail in the henna tattoos blew my mind. Very impressive!

Officially husband and wife!

Rockin’ a kiss on a hill that overlooks Petaluma’s wine country.

We had a few minutes to steal Rosemary and Ravi away, so we drove down the road to a mini forest. Aside from having to avoid the Poison Oak, it made for some crazy-awesome images.

Rosemary and Ravi, thank for letting us share in your amazing day! It was an honor to be part of such a unique and wonderful wedding. Best wishes to both of you!!!
Audra + Jeff ~ Robert Hall Winery ~ 6.26.10
August 5th, 2010Audra and Jeff are rad. And here’s why: They love and are well loved.
From the moment I met Audra as she was getting her makeup and hair done at La Bellasera, I could tell that this was going to be a very awesome day. It may have been the way Audra described Jeff’s nervous moments leading up to the proposal, how the girls were rocking out to “Crunk Hits,” or their way-more-than-I-ever-wanted-to-know-about-Spanx conversation, but all-in-all, I could see that there was some serious love shared between these friends and family.
And then I met Jeff. Well, sort of.
It was tense. All the guys were glued to the TV. The US soccer team had a penalty kick. And…. “Gooooooooaaaaal!!!!” With relief and joy, the guys went back to getting ready and formal introductions were had. It may have been the fact that the US team had just scored in the World Cup against Ghana, but it was at this point that I began to see the qualities in Jeff that Audra had just described. And it just kept getting better as the day went on.
Held in Paso Robles at Robert Hall Winery, Audra and Jeff exchanged “I do’s” in the wine cave. As you’ll see in the trailer, Jeff was one stoked groom when he saw his bride walking down the aisle. A quick glance that said, “Whooo… do you see that woman? THAT is my bride!” and I was sold. Jeff and Audra were officially rad in my book. I’m sure you’ll agree as you watch this quick glimpse into their very special day. Cheers!
“A bromance?”
“Yep, that’s what she said.”
That was the exchange with my wife (and camera assistant for the day) about her and Audra’s conversation about me and Cameron Ingalls.
“She said she wanted to hire you both because of the bromance she’d been following on your blogs.”
I had totally forgotten that Cameron and I do “flirt” from time to time with each other, but what I had not forgotten was this guy’s ridiculously amazing skills. He totally rocked it! And so, Audra, I will concede. I have a “bromance” for Cameron Ingalls.

Audra looking ridiculously amazing!

Jeff and his guys looking tough. Probably because Ghana beat the US. Ouch.

Audra and her girls all rockin’ it on the steps of Robert Hall. Cameron’s tilt work is so awesome!

You’ll need to check out Cameron’s blog by clicking here for his take on the ceremony. I love what he has to say about each wedding he shoots, but this one was, in my opinion, extra special.

Jeff is so crazy about Audra, it’s not even funny. Well, sometimes it is – like when he dips himself in her arms.
But honestly, watching these two smile, laugh and be silly together was awesome. The sun-drenched vineyards as a backdrop didn’t hurt either…

Audra and Jeff – You two are “A brand new creation. Something that has never existed before in the history of the world.” And how incredibly amazing that is! Thank you for letting us share in such an awesome day… I wish you both the very best in your life together!
Susan + Brian ~ Wolf Lakes Park ~ 6.5.10
July 29th, 2010A patient was at her doctor’s office after undergoing a complete physical exam. The doctor said, “I have some very grave news for you. You only have six months to live.”
The patient asked, “Oh doctor, what should I do?”
The doctor replied, “Marry an accountant.”
“Will that make me live longer?” asked the patient.
“No,” said the doctor, “but it will SEEM longer.”
That’s a joke I once heard about accountants. Amusing as it may be, the person who thought it up had obviously not met Susan and Brian. Though accountants, they’re ridiculously fun to hang out with and some of the coolest people I’ve met.
Our time started with an E-Session on Mother’s Day. Appropriately, we decided to shoot where they met, Fresno State University. Once our cameras were rolling, Susan and Brian shared about everything from their childhoods to the cliffhanger proposal in France. Engagement sessions are always so much fun because I feel like I get an even better glimpse into the love that has brought a couple together. Better yet, we get to share the video with friends and family on their wedding day! I love getting to watch everyone laugh, smile and cry with the different sections of an E-Session Video. Below is what we played at Susan and Brian’s wedding. It turned out a-mazing! Be sure to check out the epic footage starting at 10:40!
Fast forward less than a month and the big day had arrived. Set in the English Gardens of Wolf Lakes Park in Fresno, CA, we really couldn’t have asked for a better day. A gentle breeze kept everyone cool and the beautiful French-themed décor set the perfect mood. Sherri Mosher was the coordinator for the day and did a phenomenal job keeping things looking sharp and running smooth. Everyone seemed so stoked to be a part of not only Brian and Susan’s wedding day, but their entire lives as well. I have always believed that the people you surround yourself with says an awful lot about you… and Susan and Brian are surrounded by some wonderful people.
Haro Entertainment spun the music into the night and set a great pace for the evening. Below is the trailer from Susan and Brian’s incredible day. Enjoy!
Susan and Brian, congratulations and thank you for letting Rain Studios share in your special day. You guys are such an awesome couple!!!
Keely + Michael ~ San Luis Mission ~ 5.15.10
July 15th, 2010The morning started at The Cliffs in Shell Beach, CA. And though it was a little overcast, it made for some amazing footage. After forcing smiles through the bursts of cool ocean air, Keely was willing to brave the long set of stairs leading down to the beach where we landed some really great shots. I love it when brides are willing to just go for it.
In true Central Coast fashion, the sun decided to show up as soon as we descended into San Luis Obispo creating the perfect day for Keely and Michael as they exchanged vows in front of their friends and family. A quick video/photo session after the ceremony and we were off to the San Luis Country Club – a golf clubhouse overlooking miles of rolling greens, sun-drenched vineyards and cloud-swept skies.
Live music and Panacea’s floral arrangements set the mood and tempo for the evening. From the picture slideshow to Michael’s brothers and their entertaining toast, this was an evening that won’t soon be forgotten. It was a joy getting to share in their special day and editing this was so much fun. Especially since Keely’s friend, Christopher Chesbro, wrote the song for this trailer. Entitled, “I’d Do Anything,” it tells Keely and Michael’s story… Enjoy!
Below are a few pics we took during the day…

The bells at the Mission.

Such a cool cake!

The view from the San Luis Country Club.

Gotta love the curls.

Keely’s shoes.

I love this shot! So cool…

Not that it even needs to be said, but Keely looked a-mazing!

Bling.

One stoked father.

Just before the, “I do.”

And just after the, “I do.”

Showing off the massive amount of ice.

Keely and Michael, thanks for being so awesome! Best wishes to you both in your new life together!!!
Leann + Dustin ~ Wolf Lakes ~ 5.1.10
July 5th, 2010Leann’s mom, Suzanne, contacted me with just two months until her daughter’s wedding. At the time, we were scheduled to go to France for the entire month of May, but I managed to push back our departure so we could capture Leann and Dustin’s special day. I’m so glad, too, because this was such an amazing wedding!
I was a big fan of the day’s theme… Pink, pink, pink!!! From chair covers to floral arrangements to custom-made clutches, this wedding had no shortage of pink! We showed up with photographer-extraordinaire Ken Kienow and started capturing all of those once-in-a-lifetime moments. I felt like a kid in a candy store because no detail had been overlooked. The Swarovski Crystal lined veil… the towering red velvet cake… gorgeous bridesmaid dresses… the list could go on and on… there was just too much good stuff.
As you’ll see in this trailer, Dustin and Leann were a blast to work with. Their love for God, life and each other is so evident and I think it really came through in our footage. Add to that the beauty of the English Gardens at Wolf Lakes in Fresno, CA with a day of wonderful weather and you’re looking at a perfect day! I hope you enjoy the highlights of their wedding as much as I enjoyed capturing them!
As I mentioned earlier, Ken Kienow was the photographer for the day and he ROCKED IT. Seriously, check out this guy’s work and tell me he doesn’t blow your mind. ![]()

Gettin’ the makeup and hair did.

Dustin rocked the suspenders. Way cool.

Dustin and the guys lookin’ tough under the shade of some wicked-sick trees.

I love this shot… Ken, if I haven’t said it before, you rock.

Leann and her bridesmaids looked a-mazing! Their dresses were so rad – I loved the way they “glowed” with the light!

Father and daughter down the aisle.

Pink!

You think this groom is stoked?

The trees in the Eglish Gardens were so cool. I love what the light did with our footage and Ken’s images.

Epic.

As we were shooting with Leann and Dustin, it became so apparent that they’re perfect for each other. Moments like this snagged a beautiful essence of that chemistry.

Newlyweds.

Heading off to the reception… with a little pep in the step.

Their first dance as husband and wife…

Leann and Dustin, thank you so much for letting us share in your special day! Dustin, thank you for serving our county as a CHP officer and Leann, thanks for being willing to marry a “Chip.”
You guys make an awesome couple and I wish you all the best in your new life together! Blessings!
